Karachi: Pakistani student, Ahmed Aleem has got an international reward when Germany published its thesis ‘Pakistan Chawk’ which is based on Art and culture.
Ahmed Aleem, always a dedicated and motivated designer out to do his country a good turn, has finally started the process of a turn-around for Pakistan Chawk and its under-appreciated graphic designers.
Ahmed graduated from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture with a major in Communication Design. He felt deeply about his under privileged brothers at Pakistan Chawk who have immense talent yet less than no formal education for them to compete in this cut throat advertising market.
He made it his mission to fight their fight for them and did his dissertation on Pakistan Chawk followed by a hypothetical workshop as his thesis that aimed at filling the blanks of formal education on the subject of design at Pakistan Chawk.
His efforts have been rewarded because with this book published in the International market, the foundations of his dream have been laid. Now, he is a big step closer to emancipating his brothers at Pakistan Chawk from their creative bindings and letting them go after their dreams of a better, more creative Pakistan.
