PCB is the first International Cricket Board to have obtained sponsorship for the UDRS System. Pepsi has consented to sponsor the system for both the series. PCB announces that the UDRS System (Hawkeye Kit- Core with UDRS) is to be applied during both the Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka (Oct-Nov) and Pakistan Vs England (Jan/Feb) One Day International Series to be held in the UAE.
Commenting on the announcement PCB COO Mr Subhan Ahmad said, “ PCB is pleased to be taking a leading role in the use of ICC recommended Technologies for International Cricket. We hope that other partner boards will follow the example of the PCB and use the Umpire Review system in their respective future series."
Commenting on the development Mr David Richardson, General Manager-Cricket ICC said, "We believe that using the Decision Review System will result in getting more umpire decisions correct and we accordingly welcome the PCB's initiatives and that of its sponsors in securing its use in the upcoming series. The PCB has always led the way in supporting innovation. Its trials of a "pink/orange ball" in day/night conditions during its premier first class match is another example. These initiatives are much appreciated."
